The advent of information, communication and different technologies has paved ways for teachers across different fields of education to become more relevant and competent in instruction delivery. Many, against a single authoring tools, are available freely on internet for use by teachers at their own convenient time with no prior knowledge of coding or programming. In this paper, we reported on a 4-week descriptive survey study involved Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education and Lagos State University students within Lagos State, Nigeria. We identified the main key issues impeding the effective use of authoring tools in teaching and learning process. We found that SES (Socio-Economic Status), low computer proficiency, Time requirement, Data plan cost, Unstable Power Supply and Knowledge of existence of authoring tools are seriously affecting the use of these tools. We finally recommended power stability, improved social well being of teachers, time to time seminars and workshops among others to help teachers enjoy the current technological era.
