Abstract

This research focuses on the worrisome inter denominational migration of Christians in southeast region of Nigeria with special attention on Pentecostal prosperity message as a major player in the migration venture. The method of approach is historical and descriptive with the primary and secondary sources of data collection as tool. The findings of this research are that the unbridled proliferations of Pentecostal churches and insatiable quest for prosperity are the two main determinants for inter church movement in the area. The incessant rise of Pentecostal groups in south east Nigeria and excessive desire by some Christians for wealth and materialism give rise to inter denomination migration. Also, some atrocities are committed by some Christians in the name of prosperity and get-rich-quick syndrome, and there is semblance of rampart corruption, diabolism, and moral decadence in contemporary Pentecostalism in the name of invoking wealth for the followers.
