Abstract

The full-length cDNA of MYB gene was cloned by homologous cloning from Vaccinium ashei mutant seedlings of the red stem in the study. Bioinformatics analysis of MYB gene showed that the 1055 bp cDNA contained an open reading frame (ORF) of 825 bp, with 274 encoded amino acids. The homology, on the amino acids level, of MYB gene, with MYB ofPicea mariana (U39448.1), MYB of Theobroma cacao (GU324346.1), MYB of Vitis vinifera (NM001281231.1), MYB of Diospyros kaki (AB503701.1), MYB of Malus domestica (KJ909759.1) was 81%,65%,63%,58% and 58%, respectively. The MYB protein had no signal peptide and no transmembrane domain located in the nucleus, and the peptide chain was hydrophilic. The random coil was the largest proportion of the protein secondary structure and alpha helix after was the random coil. Beta turn and extended strand were spread in the whole secondary structure. The protein prediction of MYB showed there were two SANT in this amino acid sequence and one MYB DNA binding in each SANT.
