Abstract

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) represent an important class of nanomaterials with unique properties and numerous applications in many fields such as electronics, material science and medicine. However, the use of CNTs in agriculture is hampered by their insolubility in aqueous media and concerns regarding toxicity. The ability to separate and dissolve discrete CNTs can increase their agricultural utility. Commercially prepared water soluble CNTs-added Biofertilizer can increase crop yields in arid conditions. It contains nanoparticles with unique physicochemical properties such as large surface area, high reactivity, compatible pore size and particle morphology that can help in providing nutrients to plants for improving growth and yields. This chapter highlights commercial production and uses of Carbon Nanotubes-added Biofertilizer.
