Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the immediate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the psychological state and quality of life of Gujarat residents aged 18 years. From May 19, 2020 to May 22, 2020, a web survey was distributed via a social media platform. A total of 150 respondents (87 males and 63 females) completed the survey, with approximately 26% believing that the lockdown 4.0 should be lifted completely. Even after the lockdown is lifted completely, 56% prefer to remain at home. Only about 5% of people prefer to travel after lockdown 4.0. People experienced various levels of stress during the lockdown curfew. More than 70% of people were concerned about contracting the Corona virus. Some respondents were experiencing stress as a result of a job loss or a pay cut. People tried to stay positive and pray to relieve stress during the lockdown. 51% of the respondents said that they would like to prefer to go to the different public places after 3 months of lockdown 4.0. The majority of respondents have a positive attitude toward their lifestyle following COVID-19. People prior to COVID-19 were highly socialised and did not take good care of their bodies. People are more aware of their immunity, health, lifestyle, and mental health after COVID - 19. Of course, everyone's way of life and thinking has changed. And this will have a positive effect. In conclusion, even though the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, the COVID-19 pandemic was associated with mild stress in our sample.
