The economic and social burden of Cancer related symptoms is quite huge. Anti-depressant and anti-anxiety drug therapies as treatment approaches are becoming more popular to treat depression and anxiety as Cancer related symptoms.
In clinical psychology, Relaxation techniques are used for behavioural modifications. Different body systems are influenced by this technique to improve the physical and psycho-physiological aspects of health. Many articles have shown Relaxation as an important technique to reduce Cancer related symptoms thereby reducing the economic and social load on the cancer affected patients.
This chapter gives information about different treatment options to treat cancer related symptoms. It also focuses on Relaxation, types of Relaxation technique and the physiological response of the relaxation technique on fatigue, depression, anxiety and other cancer symptoms.
